High-end training, meeting global standards, is currently non-existent in Mozambique. The Regional Offshore Safety Training Centre initiative aims to provide oil and gas industry related safety training following the OPITO standard.

ROTC Pemba Bay and CEPAM established a partnership and cooperate to promote security training, onshore and offshore, qualified staff in order to contribute to the implementation of good use practices and exploitation of marine and coastal resources, particularly Cabo Delgado Province, facing the challenges of research and exploration of hydrocarbons at sea.

This training location will be housed in the CEPAM’s facilities - Research Centre of the Marine Environment and Coastal, located at Av. da Marginal, Chuiba, Pemba. It was launched in March 2015.

ROTC Pemba Bay is a joint venture consisting of the following companies: Mozambique Solutions and Equipment (Cornelder Holding and Indico Logistics), STC-Group Holding BV (vocational training institution in Maritime areas, offshore, ports and terminals, logistics and transport) and Workships Contractors BV. These partners possess all sectoral, local, regional and international knowledge and experience available to provide training and education of the highest international quality.
